Something about 3 AM is comforting and disturbing all at once. Quiet world. Hearing nothing but a dripping sink, maybe distant traffic, the poignant beep of an answering machine — an unimportant message left as a mystery. Being alone with your thoughts, in a quiet world, forces you to think. And by think, I don’t mean the mundane thoughts of the previous or following day. I mean the deep thoughts that you never once have dared to speak for fear of those thoughts becoming reality. Think. Thoughts that perhaps leave you breathing shallowly, staring at a mirrored soul. Or those leaving you wrapped in the warmth of a vivid memory.
